Plan a Los Angeles bánh mì trip

Pick a cluster before picking a second sandwich
  • For a central-city day: choose between Chinatown, Virgil Village, Hollywood and La Brea according to your other plans. They are distinct neighbourhoods, not one walking circuit.
  • For the Westside: compare Palms, Sawtelle and Venice, with Culver City as a nearby separate-city option. Use the exact branch address for collection.
  • For a Valley visit: Bun Me! gives Northridge a place in the guide. Check your route before combining it with the Westside or San Gabriel Valley.
  • For a two-counter comparison: Alhambra has both Bánh Mì Mỹ Tho and Ba Le. Huntington Park and Lawndale belong to different parts of the county and work better as their own stops.
  • Before travelling: check the linked current menu, opening details and payment options. Pickup and delivery menus can differ in price or availability.

For plant-based ordering, check the bread, mayonnaise, pâté and seasoning as well as the named filling. Bé Ù explicitly labels its vegan tofu sandwich, including nuts and seeds in the pâté. Banh Oui labels mushroom and tofu sandwiches vegetarian; that alone does not establish a vegan sandwich. Our sauces and spreads guide explains the ingredient checks.

Making your own instead? Use the bánh mì bread baking and buying guide and sandwich recipe guide for the bread, fillings and assembly.

Los Angeles bánh mì questions

Choose a neighbourhood and a style
Where can I find bánh mì in Hollywood?

Banh Oui at 1552 N Cahuenga Boulevard lists pork-belly, steak, chicken-katsu, shrimp, mushroom and tofu sandwiches. Its vegetarian options have specific spread substitutions, so read the full menu description when ordering.

Which parts of the Westside does this guide cover?

Lokal’s National Boulevard branch covers the Palms / West LA area; Nong Lá has a Sawtelle branch; Lokal also has a Venice location on Lincoln Boulevard. Nong Lá’s downtown Culver City branch is included as a nearby separate-city option.

Is there a San Fernando Valley option?

Yes. Bun Me! at 9420 Reseda Boulevard, Unit 5, in Northridge lists grilled-meat and deli-style bánh mì on its merchant menus.

Where can I find vegan bánh mì?

Bé Ù publishes an explicitly vegan tofu bánh mì with vegan mayonnaise and pâté. Its menu identifies cashews and sunflower seeds in the pâté. Other tofu or mushroom sandwiches require their own ingredient checks; a vegetarian label does not establish that every spread and sauce is vegan.

Are Alhambra, Culver City, Huntington Park and Lawndale LA districts?

They are separate cities in Los Angeles County. We include them in the wider-area guide and label them clearly, so you can distinguish an LA city neighbourhood from a trip to another municipality.

Is Orange County’s Little Saigon included?

It has a separate Little Saigon guide. This page concentrates on Los Angeles city and selected nearby LA County addresses rather than treating Orange County as an LA district.
